My first book

I’ve been stumbling across children books reviews lately. Surprisingly, they’ve held my attention, the stories and the pictures both.

To think of the Children’s books I can’t help but think of the first book I owned, Jubal’s Wish by Audrey Wood.

It was special because it was the first time that I spent my pocket money on a book, more special because it was bought by my Art teacher (late Sir Manzoor. May his soul rest in peace).

Now that I look at it after ages I realise; not only did he notice my love for paints but he had discovered the reader within myself, much before I acknowledged it myself.

I guess this time around when I go for book shopping I’d pick a title or two from the children’s books.

Here’s an exerpt from the book (I don’t remember much of the story but these lines always clicked. Just as they did today when I found them);

“Dreams and wishes, wishes and dreams. Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don’t. You never know how they’ll turn out in the end.”

The book has some beautiful pictures. This, by far, used to be my favourite, still is.
